Kristine (KR) Brorman is an award-winning author of romance and romantic thrillers. Her first novel, Eden’s Fall (Oct 2017), co-authored with CC Cedras and contributor SA Young was the 2018 American Fiction Awards Mystery/Thriller- Romance Winner. The sequel, Winter’s Thaw released in September 2019 is a Finalist in the Best Book Awards – Fiction/Romance category.
She is a self-described “Jack-of-all-trades, Master of none,” with a degree in Agriculture Communications. Although this does not mean she speaks to animals…she does speak to animals. Most notably her late, lost and found side-kick Stella, and new best buddy Scout along with their crew of farm cats, the occasional skunk, raccoon, deer, snake or other non-domesticated guests.
KR and husband Gregg have lived on their family farm in Adrian, Texas, just off Route 66, for over twenty-five years.
Often called a daydreamer by teachers, she channeled her creative streak and imagination into catering and event planning for the fifteen years before making the detour into writing. Food, drink and parties manage to slip into every story.
A die-hard true crime/murder mystery junkie, she scoffed at romance novels, “Anyone can do that!” until a friend challenged her to write romantic fiction…and there the story begins. Challenge accepted, she started to read romance novels, consuming some of everything under the romance umbrella. KR plowed through an author’s series in a matter of days or weeks: the romantic suspense of Nora Roberts, Christina Dodd and Sandra Brown; the paranormals of JR Ward and Sherilynn Kenyon while continuing to add to the body count with Michael Connolly, Karin Slaughter, John Sanford and others.
Writing and editing skills learned in college quickly revived when she wrote Stay. She boasts an impressive audio library that feeds her literary cravings and helps keep the dust bunnies tamed.When she’s not commandeering the dining room table for writing and learning the publishing ropes, KR dons her cape and crown as a domestic goddess, plays in her garden, volunteers as music minister and on other church committees and keeps young as a substitute teacher.
She currently serves on the board of directors for Texas High Plains Writers, one of the nation’s oldest writing organizations which celebrates its centennial in 2020.
